The KV-1 is a Soviet Heavy Tank in the KV tank series. It was brought into service in 1940 and had what wasalmost impenetrable armour at the time. There was a crew of 5: driver, driver/mechanic, gunner, commander/loader and radio man/machine gunner. It was 6.75m long, 3.32m wide, 2.71m wide and weighed 45 tonnes. It had up to 75mm armour, a 76.2mm F-34 tank gun and 4x DT 7.62mm machine guns. The engine was a diesel 12-cylider V2 with 600hp and made the tank go at up to 35km/h. It had an operational range of 335km.
