Panzer VI Tiger I

A Tiger I.

The Panzer VI Tiger I and Tiger II were German Heavy Tanks used in WWII to solve the problems that were T-34 and KV-1. There were 1,839 of them built. It was 8.45 metres long, 3.55m wide, 3m high and 5.69 tonnes. It had 25 - 120mm armour, an 8.8cm KwK 36 L/56 with 92 rounds and two 7.92 Maschinengewehr 34 with 4,800 rounds. The engine was a Maybach HL230 P45 (V-12 petrol) engine and could go at 38km/h. Although the Tiger I was feared by most of it's opponents, it was prone to track failure and immobilisation and had a huge fuel consumtion, so the Germans invented the Tiger II, an even better version of the Tiger I. The Tiger II chassis was used for the Jagdtiger tank destroyer.
